Ultimate Goal: We are a family of disciple-making families committed to sharing Jesus’s love for Matthews.
We reach UP to God and IN with each other to be well-equipped to reach OUT to the world.
We are cross-culturally focused to reach all people groups of Matthews.
We engage in fellowship and discipleship focused on helping people connect and grow in their faith with Jesus through:
Family-Oriented Small Groups
Inspiring, Music-Driven Times of Worship
What do we believe? We believe the Bible is the word of God from Genesis to Revelation. We believe, "All Scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, equipped for every good work."
Who are we? We are a church plant formed for the joint efforts between Global Mission Nepal and First Baptist Church Matthews set to reach the lost locally and globally. We are image bearers of God, uniquely created in different colors, languages, ethnicities, and nationalities, but of the same family and invite all to worship with us.

We're excited to announce that we are returning to in-person worship on Sundays at 11am. Here are the plans and some considerations to make:
To assist us with moving everyone into the sanctuary, while practicing social distancing, we ask that you arrive at least 15 minutes prior to the start of our worship service. Doors will open and seating will begin at 10:45am.
For Your Health and the Health of Others
Hand sanitizer will be available, but we are encouraging everyone to bring their own, as desired.
If you are sick or have recently been ill (in the past 14 days), we ask that you attend church online.
If you are immunocompromised or a member of what has been determined to be a vulnerable population to the COVID-19 virus, we ask that you continue to attend church online.
If you care for someone who is sick, has recently been ill, or is immunocompromised, we ask that you attend church online.
Please park in the parking lot on Sadie Drive attached to the First Baptist Church of Matthews Office and Youth Center.
All Handicap spaces will be open.
Overflow parking will be the vacant bank (formerly BB&T) parking lot next to Mac's Speed Shop.
Anyone wishing to attend services will be required to wear a mask. If you do not have one, we will be glad to provide you with a disposable face covering. Masks must be worn at all times while inside the building.
Children under the age of 5 will not be required to wear a mask, but should always be accompanied by an adult when in the building.
Entering and Exiting
The Sadie Drive entrance to the Youth center will be our ONLY entrance and exit point.
All other entry doors will remain locked with signs directing guests to Sadie Drive.
Worship Service Changes
All printed materials have been removed from the sanctuary with exception to drawing and coloring activities for children.
We will not pass out the offering plate, but have placed an offering box on the stage. We continue to encourage you to give your tithes and offerings via mail or online.
Families will be asked to sit together. Seating in the sanctuary is spaced appropriately.
We ask that families leave the building without lingering in the foyer or hallways.
We will not hold children's church at this time. Children should attend church with their families. Drawing and coloring activities will be provided for those that find it helpful. Please bring your own activities to help keep children quietly pre-occupied that may not be able to keep attention to the worship and sermon.
Bathrooms will be open with social distancing protocols in place.
Communal bathrooms will be available for use, with doors propped open (when not in use) for proper ventilation.
No more than 1 person at a time will be permitted in the same bathroom unless they are family members living in the same home.
James is an award-winning musician focused on worship to serve God. He is the first Indian gospel artist to win an international award. He has won 3 IMEA awards and one Akademia award for his music.
He was born and raised in a Buddhist and Hindu family. His youth was not an easy one as his mother abandoned him and he was raised by his grandparents. Without any strong family guidance, he was unable to complete his education and eventually despaired of life itself. However, by the grace of God he turned to Christ and subsequently desired to serve the Lord who saved him. He has faithfully served the cause of Christ for the last 20 years in youth and worship ministry. In 2008 James married his wife, Imlinaro, and they have two children: a son Nicholas, and daughter Norah Emily.
James' passion is to serve God with music and bring an offering of worship before God's throne.
Tony is a tech geek with a heart for missions. He was born in Ohio and grew up in Matthews, NC, as an agnostic. God led him to his wife, Tamara, in 2007. After their marriage in 2009, he began to realize there was something missing in his soul. Tamara's family and his co-worker began pouring the love of Jesus and the gospel into him throughout this time. In 2011, he accepted Jesus Christ into his heart, made a public confession in early 2012 and was baptized in July 2013. Tamara and Tony dove head first into strengthening their faith, love for God and each other and serving in the churches which they have attended. Tony has been working in the information technology field in various capacities and most recently as the IT lead at a large, well-known consulting firm, where he manages a team of 11 and ensures highest quality services for their clients.
Tony and Tamara have two kids, Bella (8) and Remy (6).
For fun, they love traveling and camping in their travel trailer while visiting new places. Tony also enjoys photography, backpacking, the mountains and motorcycles (but doesn't ride anymore). He has a strong heart for serving and doing it in the way Jesus calls us to serve.
Bob is a missionary with a passion for discipleship. He grew up in Illinois and France, had the blessings of a Christian home, trusted Christ at a young age, and was baptized in college. He has a Bachelor of Science (Microbiology) from Purdue University and a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from University of Illinois. He has been involved in almost every area of church life including music and worship, Vacation Bible School, Awanas, community outreach, Bible teaching, elder and deacon council as well as short- and long-term overseas missions. Bob's passion is helping Christians understand the reliability of God's word and the wonderful blessing that is the Church, as well as using science to open doors to the gospel. He has been married to Karen for 43 years. They have 3 grown children and four grandchildren.
