Who are we? We are a church plant formed for the joint efforts between Global Mission Nepal and First Baptist Church Matthews set to reach the lost locally and globally. We are image bearers of God, uniquely created in different colors, languages, ethnicities, and nationalities, but of the same family representing Revelation 5:9, 7:9 and invite all to worship to with us.
Vision: We seek to reach the lost, worship God together as the body of Christ and make disciples of all the nations (Matthew 16:18, Luke 15, Matthew 28:19-20, and Acts 1:8).
Mission: Our mission is to recruit Christ's believers, equip and deploy them to reach our local and global communities to bring the knowledge of Christ to all (Ephesians 4: 11- 12, 2 Timothy 3:17).
Goal: By 2030 we seek to reach others around our neighborhood to build a Christ-centered community and plant healthy and reproducible churches locally and globally (Matthew 28:19-20, Acts 1:8; 13:1-3).
What do we believe? We believe the Bible is the word of God from Genesis to Revelation. We believe, "All Scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, equipped for every good work." (2 Timothy 3:16-17 and 2 Peter 1:20-21)
Home :: About Us
Vision: To faithfully provide an atmosphere of reverent, powerful, Christ-centered and Holy-Spirit-led; -empowered; -anointed worship to the One True God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ. We want those who come into our presence to be pointed to our Heavenly Father and to our Lord Jesus Christ, the King of kings, and led to worship Them in Spirit and in truth, employing God’s word and all for His glory (John 4:23-24).
Mission: The worship ministry will actively win worshippers of Christ, focusing on building them up in Him as they learn to live holy lives committed to loving and following Jesus Christ in all areas of life. Then, we will send them to do the same in everyday worship, wherever we go, as a team of worshippers. We will be a worship ministry that builds and sends out other worship teams and individuals into the world who will fulfill the Great Commission to the praise of God’s glory through worship, God-glorifying music and their own lives as disciples of Jesus Christ (Ephesians 1:3-6, 10-14; Matthew 28:18-20).
Vision: To fulfill our Lord’s Great Commission by helping each person become complete in Christ Jesus and multiply spiritually. (Matt 28:19, Col 1:28)
Mission: We will fulfill our vision by creating a robust discipleship program adapted to all ages that incorporates regular Bible teaching, spiritual mentoring, and opportunities for service. (2 Tim 2:2, Phil 4:9, 1 Timothy 6:18)
Vision: The prayer ministry supports an atmosphere of holiness in our congregation and community, continually seeking the will and the face of God through prayer. We believe there is power in prayer, power in the name of the Lord and power in the Word of God.
Mission: The prayer ministry exists to support the spiritual and ethical guidelines of the church. We pray for the local and universal body of Christ; our Pastors, families and communities; the salvation of the lost; and on behalf of others as the Spirit of God leads us.
Vision: We want to see every church member witness to our family members, relatives, friends, coworkers in workplace, neighborhood, and world to fulfill the Great Commission (Matthew 28:19; Acts 1:8) to bring the local and global communities together in worship (Rev. 7:9).
Mission: To make sure every believer is sharing Christ and giving sacrificially while ensuring we are building and prayerfully executing plans for Global Mission Church Charlotte to plant at least 4 churches (Acts 1:8, 13:1-3).
Vision: We exist to show our hospitality to all with our desire to serve all who enter, new or old, so that they can worship and engage in greater fellowship with God and each other. Those that enter the fellowship will feel welcomed and feel the love of Jesus Christ not just by the team but the church.
Mission: To demonstrate this hospitality, we will serve as ambassadors of Christ, this is through service and hospitality. This is through physical affections and also to create a welcoming and comforting environment to those who enter to worship.
Vision: To see Christ be proclaimed among the next generation and to disciple them so that they are sent to change the world alongside their parents and the local church.
Mission: To equip and empower youth to follow hard after Christ, in community with the local church, and to train them to impact their communities as they grow in faith. To build up within them a faithfulness to the gospel call in their lives wherever God may lead them.
Vision: To Biblically educate our children son that their lifetime goals become knowing God, obeying Jesus’ words, and listening to His Holy Spirit. (Proverbs 22:6)
Mission: In order to fulfill the vision, the children’s ministry team will endeavor to create a safe, fun, and stimulating environment for children from birth through 5th grade that provides activity-centered, Bible-based instruction (art, science, games) to learn the things of God and partners with parents to encourage and build their relationship with God and others. (Ephesians 6:4, 1 Timothy 4:8, 2 Timothy 3:16)
Media & Operations
Vision: Provide a Biblical operational foundation that will allow for the ministries of the church to thrive and ultimately grow the church into numerous church plants.
Mission: Support the church with careful organization and execution of a ministry experience that will benefit His kingdom.

Dan was born and raised as a Hindu in the mountains of Nepal. When he was 20 years old, a Hindu friend shared with him about Jesus. The following week, they both went to an underground church, and both accepted Christ as savior. Dan received God's call for kingdom ministry in 1993. In 2006, Bardstown Junction Baptist Church in Shepherdsville, KY ordained him for the gospel ministry. Dan received a Master of Divinity degree from Southern Baptist Theological Seminary, a Master's degree in Sacred Theology from Boston University, and currently, he is a candidate for a Doctorate of Missiology from Southern Baptist Theological Seminary.
Dan has been living in the US since 2001 and has initiated over 18 new churches in Louisville, Dallas, Boston and he is now leading Global Mission Church Charlotte (GMCCLT). Before GMCCLT was planted, Dan has served on the North American Mission Board for 5 years as a Church Planting Catalyst in Boston. Dan also has trained more than 300 church planters globally in US, Israel, UK, Hong Kong, Malaysia, and South Korea. In addition, Dan launched Global Mission Nepal in 2014 which has over 90 active churches in that country.
Dan is married to Mandira. They have two sons: Daniel and Ananta.
James is an award-winning musician and the first Indian gospel artist to win an international award. He has won 3 IMEA awards and one Akademia award for his music.
He was born and raised in a Buddhist and Hindu family. His youth was not an easy one as his mother abandoned him and he was raised by his grandparents. Without any strong family guidance, he was unable to complete his education and eventually despaired of life itself. However, by the grace of God he turned to Christ and subsequently desired to serve the Lord who saved him. He has faithfully served the cause of Christ for the last 20 years in youth and worship ministry. In 2008 James married his wife, Imlinaro, and they have two children: a son Nicholas, and daughter Norah Emily.
James' passion is to serve God with music and bring an offering of worship before God's throne.
Outreach, Media & Operations Pastor
Tony was born in Ohio and grew up in Matthews, NC, as an agnostic. God led him to his wife, Tamara, in 2007 and after their marriage in 2009, he began to realize there was something missing in his soul. Tamara's family and his co-worker began pouring the love of Jesus and the gospel into him throughout this time. In 2011, he accepted Jesus Christ into his heart, made a public confession in early 2012 and was baptized in July 2013. Tamara and Tony dove head first into strengthening their faith, love for God and each other and serving in the churches which they have attended. Tony has been working in the information technology field in various capacities and most recently as the IT lead at a large, well-known consulting firm, where he manages a team of 11 and ensures highest quality services for their clients.
Tony and Tamara have two kids, Bella (7) and Remy (5).
For fun, they love traveling and camping in their travel trailer while visiting new places. Tony also enjoys photography, backpacking, the mountains and motorcycles (but doesn't ride anymore). He has a strong heart for serving and doing it in the way Jesus calls us to serve.
Peter grew up in San Francisco, California. He accepted Christ as his Lord and Savior at age of 18 and became a member of Bethel Church in Los Angeles where he served in the worship team and as a youth pastor for three years. In 2016, he joined a new church plant (New Life Church) and served on the evangelism and worship teams. Peter has been married to Sujana for three years. They have a two-year-old daughter, Joanna Grace.
Bob grew up in Illinois and France, had the blessings of a Christian home, trusted Christ at a young age, and was baptized in college. He has a Bachelor of Science (Microbiology) from Purdue University and a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from University of Illinois. He has been involved in almost every area of church life including music and worship, Vacation Bible School, Awanas, community outreach, Bible teaching, elder and deacon council as well as short- and long-term overseas missions. Bob's passion is helping Christians understand the reliability of God's word and the wonderful blessing that is the Church, as well as using science to open doors to the gospel. He has been married to Karen for 43 years. They have 3 grown children and four grandchildren.

Since that time, she has been involved in various para-church ministries, and in ethnic congregations and ministries. She has a heart for training women in leadership, as well as biblical and cross-cultural counseling. She also has a Master of Divinity degree in Church Planting and Personal Evangelism from Southern Baptist Theological Seminary.
Hospitality Ministry Director
Gail was raised in Florala, a small town in Alabama. At age seventeen, she accepted Christ as her Savior. She was heavily involved in her local church, and she pursued a career in nursing, most of which was in Presbyterian Hospital/Novant Health. Gail has been involved with Charlotte Rescue Mission, Stephen Ministry, Counting Team, Feed the Multitude, Servants With A Heart, and as a greeter at First Baptist Matthews. She is the mother of two sons and grandmother of four grandchildren. Her hobbies are knitting and crocheting, cooking, and exercise. She is extremely excited to be a part of Global Mission Church-Charlotte and to see what God is going to do.
Prayer Ministry Director
Pat Hyland came to the Charlotte area late in 2017 from North Texas where she attended The Hills Church and was baptized in 2001. Pat worked as a clinical social worker. Her jobs included facilitating groups and providing individual counseling at a men's prison as well as for a psychiatric hospital in Dallas. Pat has been married to David Hyland since 2000 and has two children and eight grandchildren.
